Students in the 4th and 5th grade classes have been learning about the harmful effects and chemicals used to make cigarettes. Several students were selected to teach a lesson on smoking to the students at Polk Elementary.   

FACT- Tobacco makes your teeth yellow and gives you bad breath.

FACT - Cigarettes can cause cancer of the throat and voice box.

FACT- Tar builds up in your lungs and causes cancer.

FACT - Smoking increases the risk of cancer of the bladder, kidney and stomach.

FACT - Smoking causes people to get wrinkles and gray hair at a younger age.

FACT - Smoking can block arteries, causing heart attacks and strokes.

CIGARETTE SMOKE HAS MORE THAN 4,000 CHEMICALS.
